Bobcaygeon Horticultural Society Awards
Did you know that in addition to the Communities in Bloom initiative, the Bobcaygeon Horticultural Society cruises the town yearly looking for gardens of special note? Awards are given, along with bragging rights, to top gardens in the following categories:
Residential Garden
Containers
Vegetable Garden
Community Organization
Commercial Property
Special Award
When the Bobcaygeon Horticultural Gardens Beautiful Team goes out searching and judging, they have five guidelines that they follow:
Design – planting arrangements/creative use of space
Variety – use of variety of plant species
Condition – well maintained, healthy plants, tidiness
Environmental Practices – water barrels, compost, mulching
Overall Impressions – general eye appeal/ wow appeal
